VITAS is seeking Chaplain candidates for our program located in Fort Lauderdale to work full time  or per diem with our hospice patients residing in their homes, ALF's or our Inpatient Units.  The qualified candidates will be responsible for visiting patients and families to provide pastoral care as determined by a spiritual assessment and the interdisciplinary care plan; will act as a liaison between patients and families, local clergy, and the hospice interdisciplinary team; will attend team meetings to address spiritual and bereavement needs identified in the plan of care with the hospice team, and will conduct funerals and bereavement group activities as well as document all services provided. Qualified candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution Master's in Divinity (or equivalent from an accredited seminary or theological school) Ordination (in some cases Commissioning or Endorsements) to minister in a specialized setting and be in good standing with his/her faith body Minimum of one (1) unit (400 hours) of ACPE accredited CPE training,as well as demonstrated competence working with spiritual dynamics of illness, loss, and death.VITAS offers a competitive salary and generous benefit package. Please forward your resume to karolyn.holmes@vitas.com or fax to 954-777-1424.
