Chief Operating Officer

Coney Island Hospital, a major teaching hospital (member of NYC Health & Hospitals Corporation) is searching for a qualified individual to assume the position of Chief Operating Officer. Position provides direct staff support to the Senior Vice President/Chief Executive Officer, oversees and works in collaboration with various departments in the planning, development and promulgation of programs, policies and procedures, evaluates and monitors techniques designed to implement the policies and achieve the goals established by the governing body and corporate office. Assist the SVP/CEO in maintaining cooperative relationships with the community, professional groups, external agencies and regulatory bodies. The incumbent will serve as the First Deputy Executive Director and will act in the stead of the Sr. Vice President/Chief Executive Officer when necessary.

Requirements: A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in Hospital Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Hospital Health Care, Medical Admin-istration or a related program; and, six years of full-time, paid experience in high-level responsible business administration, public administration or an equivalent field in a position of direct responsibility for total operations or major parts thereof in a hospital setting including substantial exposure in meeting community needs.
