Child Life Specialist

This Child Life Specialist will be located at the new Legacy Campus of Children's Medical Center located in Plano, TX.  The Childe Life Specialist is responsible for assessing patients’ psychosocial and developmental needs during hospitalization and developing a plan for the facilitation of therapeutic interventions.

 

Qualifications for this position include: Master’s degree in Child Life, Human Development and Family Studies, Counseling, child Development, therapeutic Recreation or child Psychology and completion of a Child Life internship is required.  Additionally six months to one year of previous related experience is required; two to three years of previous experience is preferred.  Designation as a Certified Child Life Specialist is preferred.

 

Children’s Medical Center Dallas is a private, not-for-profit hospital that is the only academic healthcare facility in North Texas dedicated to the comprehensive care of children from birth to age 18.
