Position Summary:
This position reports the Director of Insurance Follow-Up and Speciality Services at UW Physicians (UW Physicians). Based on the mission, values and goals of UW Physicians’ (UWP) Central Practice Plan (CPP), the Client Managers represents the CPP’s revenue cycle accountability to individual Clinical Departments. Achieves high client satisfaction by building relationships with Clinical Departments that demonstrates a keen understanding of the specific business lines and values and supports the provider’s work and workflow processes. Monitors the financial and operational performance of clinics and performs analysis to identify operational performance trends and addresses specific billing and collection questions to resolution. Oversees various and diverse projects of a highly complex nature: In some cases by individually carrying out the investigation and taking the necessary actions but in other cases assembling project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing a schedule to ensure timely completion of projects. Managers need to routinely communicate with senior management and/or functional area managers regarding status of key clinical issues and specific projects. Typically requires 5 or more years experience working with physician billing and reimbursement.
Essential Responsibilities:
Builds and maintains excellent teamwork relationships with Clinical Departments and other UWP departments in order to solve problemsSolves complex problems through a cross-functional approachMonitors financial and operational performance of clients and performs analysis to identify trends and answer specific questions.Oversees various improvement and strategic system projects of a highly complex natureProvides timely, accurate, and professional responses to questions and concernsManages multiple clients and timelinesProvides professional consultative services for strategic planning and implementation of Lean process improvement.In concert with project sponsors, assesses and identifies problems and opportunities, assembles project/ improvement team, identifies appropriate resources needed, develops schedule to ensure timely completion of improvement project. Advances the organization’s ability to meet and exceed key strategic initiatives.
Required Qualifications: Excellent critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills demonstrated in a healthcare setting.Strong analytical and financial skills with proficiency in desktop computer applications to efficiently manage operational functionsAbility to achieve results in a collaborative manner within a teamwork environment through taking responsibility for projects and working through obstacles with diplomacBias for action and passion for deliverAbility to telescope between the big picture and the details, solving problems at both levelsFive to seven years experience working with physician billing and reimbursementBachelor’s degree or five years equivalent experience required. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills; conveys a positive and professional image in person, on the telephone and in correspondence and positively represents UWP.Ability to work effectively with staff, external parties, and management to pursue innovative ideas for identifying opportunities that will improve organizational effectiveness and operational performance.Ability to work independently to coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:Medical coding certification preferredKnowledge of quality improvement, quality planning, systems theory & business strategy development.Master’s degree in Business, Health Administration or related field.Skilled in applying and teaching Lean improvement concepts and principles to diverse audiences from senior management to frontline staff.Knowledge of EPIC.

Incumbents must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the confidentiality of employee information, UWP plans, initiatives, and financial information, and patient privacy rights. Job duties must be performed with minimum access to and use of UWP, employee, and/or patient information. Incumbents are required to engage in active discussion with subordinates on the requirements for reporting of compliance concerns and the company’s commitment to non-retaliation for reporting such concerns. Incumbents must promptly report all compliance concerns.
