Clinical Coding Specialist / CPC

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a nationally recognized healthcare provider in San Diego and Riverside counties.

 

The Clinical Coding Specialist will train and monitor Clinicians and other clinic staff in proper coding and documentation, and conduct ongoing qualitative analyses of patient medical records to ensure the documentation of appropriate, quality medical care. 

 

The successful candidate will possess:Completion of a coding certificate program with AHIMA approval status, CCS or CPC certification preferred.Minimum two years experience as a Clinical Coding Specialist or Certified Professional Coder in a high volume medical environment. MediCal and FPACT coding experience preferred.Demonstrated training and curriculum development experience preferred.Limited travel may be requiredMust have excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication including proven ability to effectively speak in public to individuals and groups.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to handle tasks independently.Must have the willingness and ability to adapt to change including advances in technology.Strong analytical and problem solving skills.Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.Demonstrated ability to follow through with projects.Customer service orientation and a commitment to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction. Must be flexible and a team player.Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
