Clinical Coordinator/RN

The Clincial Coordinator/RN will function to promote the growth of the interventional radiology division.  Primary duties are those which coordinate physician to physician contact, ensure timely scheduling and follow up, maintain current and attract new referrals.

 

Primary duties include:

Scheduling- this includes interventional procedures in angiography/special procedures, epidural steroid injections, biopsies and other ct guided and fluoro procedures, and imaging. We pride ourselves on an easy referral process that includes contacting patients and obtaining assessment and pertinent history/imaging, explaining procedures/providing instructions and precerting procedures. An average day involves scheduling 10-20 patients per day for a variety of procedures.

 

Maintaining daily flow of schedules at hospital- This includes obtaining pertinent imaging and clinical information prior to procedures, writing orders, meeting and consenting patients, assessing abnormal lab values, scheduling follow up appointments and communicating with referring physicians.

 

Follow-up- Follow up includes obtaining pathology reports on biopsies and follow up calls to any interventional procedure done. Follow-up is done weekly and as needed. Problem calls are triaged throughout the day and communicated to physicians for appropriate orders.

 

Database Management- All interventional procedures performed are logged in a database/patient chart with important clinical information and followup.

 

Interventional Clinic- The interventional clinic operates 2 afternoons/week. Greet patients, collect insurance information, answer phones and complete necessary paperwork.

 

Responsible for phone answering, scheduling, precerting, and clerical duties.
