Clinical Documentation Specialist

Requirements: * Must demonstrate ability to use, or eagerness to learn,the use computer applications relative to the job.* Strong skill in interacting with physicians and other members of the health care team, including Health Information Managment coders.* Strong interpersonal communication skillsEducation: RN Licensure / BS (strongly preferred to be in nursing)Experience: > 5 years Description: Facilitates improvement in overall quality, completeness and accuracy of the medical record documentation. Promotes appropriate clinical documentation through extensive interaction with Physicians, nursing staff, other patient caregivers, and Health Information Department coding staff to ensure clinical documentation reflects the level of service rendered to patients is complete and accurate. Also responsible for educating all members of patient care team on documentation guidelines on an ongoing basis.
