As the Clinical Informatics Coordinator, you will join the Nursing Administration team and will be responsible to the Director of Clinical Informatics for the coordination, direction and implementation of clinical informatics solutions throughout Salem/West Valley Hospitals for the provision and support of clinical care across the continuum of care to improve workflow and data capture in support of the care of the patient. This position requires development and maintenance of key relationships with clinical departments, education and Information services. You will be responsible to provide leadership and expertise to the multidisciplinary team implementing and advancing the EPIC computerized and integrated clinical information system, as well as other informatics systems in use by the organization. Duties include, but are not limited to: develop and provide new and ongoing training for informatics systems; create a culture of continuous improvement including using performance improvement tools and processes to address information technology issues; develop and manage an effective plan for the future direction of areas of responsibility; plan for current and future informatics systems; evaluate and recommend hardware/software strategies; and collaborate with education department to assure high standard of education.Desired Attributes: • Excellent verbal communication skills, especially public speaking skills or group presentation skills. • Good interpersonal and leadership skills. • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities. • Effective prioritization and time management skills. • Evidence of creativity, initiative and integrity. • Effective collaboration skills.Employment requirements: The successful incumbent must possess: • A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Allied Health Service, Informatics, Information Technology, Education, Organizational Development, Communication or Human Resources, or be able to obtain within two (2) years from the date of hire; AND • A minimum of three (3) years work experience in a clinical setting; AND • A working knowledge of Informatics applications.Preference may be given to candidates possessing: • EPIC applications experience; and/or • Experience with classroom teaching and/or working with adult learners.
