Candidate must have Hematology experience.

 



As a Medical Technologist II, you will perform, but are not limited to, the daily activities as described below:

 



Duties and Responsibilities:

- Oversee lab assistants and provide proper guidance and training for team members

- Must demonstrate proficiency in all principle duties of a Medical Technologist

- Proficient in all applicable areas of testing in the department. Proficient in troubleshooting all applicable instruments/procedures in the department or willing to learn other departments and instruments

- Participate in continuing education

- Make suggestions for improvements; actively participate in implementation of process improvements

- Assist with oversight and training of department employees as necessary

- Perform other duties as needed to assure the timely completion of the work

- Follows quality control standard operating procedures in a proactive and timely manner

- Distribute work load appropriately

 



Skills/Requirements:

- Must  know how to troubleshoot and maintain the Cell-Dyn 3700

- Must be proficient in reviewing abnormal/differential slides

- Must have excellent customer skills; contact with clients may be required

- Must protect patient confidentiality at all times

- Needs to have excellent communication skills with both clients and team members

 



Education:- BS in Medical Technology, Biology or Chemistry, or an AS degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology - Foreign educated candidates must provide a detailed credential evaluation from IERF (International Education Research Foundation). United States educated candidates must provide a detailed original transcript.

 



Work Experience:- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience with most current year in Hematology department.- Supervisory experience preferred.
