Summary of Position Description:

This requisition is not currently assigned to a unit. The unit and hours will be determined at time of hiring. In order to process your application you must indicate your 1st, 2nd & 3rd choice of units on the application.

Flexibility Will Be Required For Unit Availability And Shift Hours.

With guidance, is responsible for meeting nursing needs of patients through continuous assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating the effects of care designed to meet the changing needs of the patient and family. This is a transition position and progression to Staff Nurse II is usually accomplished within six months.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

1. Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine.

2. Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families and other health care providers.

3. Knowledge of standards, policies, procedures and organizational structure of the unit, Nursing Services and the institution.

4. Basic knowledge of the theory, practices, principles and processes of professional nursing. BS degree in Nursing preferred.

5. Analytical ability sufficient to identify changes in patients conditions and initiate appropriate action.
