Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento (SMCS) has two acute care hospital campuses, Sutter General and Sutter Memorial, and has provided health care to residents of Sacramento since 1923. SMCS received a superior rating for overall patient satisfaction on calhospitalcompare.org, a consumer online report card.This role supports the mission and vision of Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento by providing consulation services to Patients who are treated within Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento. The Clinical Pharmacist Coordinator delivers pharmaceutical care through the provision of drug information, education and services that foster the safe and effective, as well as cost-effective, use of drugs to patients.The Clinical Pharmacist Coordinator develops, implements and maintains programs and systems which support non-distributive, patient care functions.  The incumbent develops policies and procedures, provides education and training, and ensures a consistent approach in these programs.  The incumbent ensures JCAHO compliance in the Medical Staff functions such as Drug Reaction Reporting and Drug Usage Evaluation.  Serves as a resource to all hospital practitioners in drug information, as well as direct involvement with Clinical Effectiveness projects and various Medical Staff committees, including Pharmacy & Therapeutics Team as well as other committees as needed such as Antibiotic Guidance.  The incumbent will be competent in all aspects of the clinical operations including services specific to pediatrics, geriatrics and any other specific Cancer populations  served.  The Clinical Pharmacist Coordinator directs all clinically-related functions within Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento. The Clinical Pharmacist Coordinator provides direction and expertise to other Pharmacy operations in the Central Area (acute facilities, Infusion Pharmacy, medical groups, etc.).  In this capacity, the Clinical Pharmacist Coordinator assumes leadership of area-wide clinical initiatives that support best practice.  Education:·  Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of California.·  PharmD. or Master's Degree and/or residency preferred.·  Formal management training desirable. Experience:·  Experience demonstrating leadership and managerial capabilities.·  Experience in developing and managing clinical programs.·  Superior oral and written communication skills.·  Able to critically evaluate programs and services with respect to cost/benefit. Knowledge:·  Extensive knowledge of medical/pharmaceutical issues pertaining to the Regional Cancer Institute.·  Abreast of current literature and able to evaluate it with application to patient specific problems.·  Thorough knowledge of current regulatory and economic issues.
