The Clinical Research RN/NP is a professional nurse, authorized by the Board of Registration in Nursing to practice as an advanced practice nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with primarily responsibilities for implementing; coordinating and performing research protocols. The RN/NP/PA will provide age specific care to the adolescent and adult persons, with and without diabetes mellitus in a collaborative practice, by using advanced competencies in history taking, physical examination and interpretation of laboratory and related diagnostic tools for purposes of screening and safety assessment of subjects participating in clinical research studies. These include recruiting/enrolling patients to the studies; coordinating the care, data collection and education for study patients and their families, overseeing the implementation of our study protocols by our affiliated network's staff and patients, training and orienting our affiliated site personnel to the research studies. In addition, this position is responsible for scheduling and performing metabolic assessments likeIVGTT (intravenous glucose tolerance test) , MMTT (Mixed Meal Tolerance Test) administering study drugs and other medications and other study related procedures with study patients. The Clinical Research Trial Nurse coordinates our research trials with other sites and represents our research group internally and externally when requested. Other administrative duties are included in the role.

Qualifications:

· Medical degree (RN/NP; BSN or higher).
· At least 3 years of nursing/medical field experience; experience in diabetes management preferred.
· Demonstrated excellence in organizational, writing, interpersonal and clinical care skills.
· Clinical trial experience, especially pediatric is advantageous.
