JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
•  Audit and review Inpatient and Outpatient coding/billing for all Lancaster General entities
•  Prepare audit reports addressed to management and Audit committee, highlighting deficiencies and recommending the corrective action to be taken
•  Evaluate responses to audit report recommendations to determine reasonable and suggest follow-up actions
•  In conjunction with Supervisor or Manager, Internal Audit, and/or Corporate Compliance Officer, discusses findings with appropriate management and physicians
•  Prepare and present educational information as required
•  Assess coding process and provide recommendations for improving current procedures
•  Assist management with various coding/billing issues at any of the clients entities
•  Maintain knowledge of federal, state and other regulations, assisting with implementation of changes through auditing and feedback

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
•  Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) or certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred.
•  Hospital coding certification (CCS) or applicable work experience and education required to obtain the CCS within two (2) years
•  Five (5) years experience in ICD-9 CM and CPT 4 coding
•  Experience with inpatient, outpatient and physician coding
•  Knowledge of DRG assignment and APC assignment
