Coding Coordinator to oversee coding and documentation compliance for aDallas, TX MSO

Coding Coordinator to oversee coding and documentation compliance for a Management Service Organization in Dallas, TX.  We provide management services to a variety of specialties and we need the right person to provide coding support and education to our physicians.

Ensures timely and accurate coding of inpatient and outpatient services performed by Neurosurgeons, Trauma Surgeons, Orthopedic Surgeons and Primary Care Physicians.  Evaluates documentation and educates associated physicians on current coding methodologies.  Verifies that all hospital charges have been received compared to the surgery schedule and applies the appropriate CPT4 and ICD-9 codes to the services.  Provides consultative services to the physicians served by the MSO and performs compliance audits on a routine basis for associated physicians.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
-High School Diploma or G.E.D.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
-2 years of coding experience required, neurosurgery coding strongly preferred.  Must be knowledgeable of coding compliance rules and regulations, as well as current on federal legal requirements associated with coding.  Experience in neurosurgical coding strongly preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
-Certified Procedural Coder (CPC)

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
-Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-Knowledge of insurance requirements for physician visits and procedures.
-Knowledge of coding conventions associated with Neurosurgery.
