Collection Specialist (LPN/RN)

Approves donor eligibility and promotes good donor care during the collection of safe blood units in accordance with the ARCBS directives, the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), and local policies and procedures. Demonstrates excellence in customer service and public relations to promote a positive, professional image of the ARCBS. Works independently with attention to detail. Performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures, regulations outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and other applicable Federal, state and local laws. Complies with safety policies and procedures in the work area and uses applicable protective equipment at all times to prevent exposure to potentially infectious blood and body fluids.  Specific responsibilities will include:Follows all applicable standard operating procedures, regulations, directives and policies to ensure compliance. Performs donor history and may approve donor suitability for collections according to ARCBS directives, the Code of Federal Regulations and local policies and procedures. Performs all phases of blood collections and donor management which under supervision may include therapeutic apheresis according to ARCBS directives, the Code of Federal Regulations and local policies and procedures to ensure safe products and donor experience. Trains paid and volunteer staff as needed and performs competency assessments as instructed to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Assembles and maintains supplies and equipment to ensure a state of readiness. Maintains positive public relations at all times to promote a professional image of the ARCBS. Performs other related duties as necessary.

Minimum qualifications for this position include:High school diploma or equivalent is required. RN/LPN is preferred or equivalent experience is required, with current state licensure as required or documented satisfactory experience as a Collections Technician is required. Customer service experience, effective verbal communication and public relations skills are preferred. A current valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
