Communications Director

American Heart Association Would you enjoy working with the media, local volunteers and fundraisers to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke? The Marketing and Communications Team works to promote and publicize the mission of the American Heart Association and our four integrated cause campaigns and numerous events and programs. As a communications director for Dallas, you will develop key relationships with media personnel and local volunteers with the goal of promoting the American Heart Association's cause campaigns and programs in the local community. You will be responsible for developing integrated and creative communication plans to effectively promote the mission of the American Heart Association in the local community. Your time will be spent coordinating media interviews, assisting with local events, activating sponsorships through marketing and communication activities, and cultivating volunteer relationships. Bachelor's in public relations, journalism, marketing, communications or advertising 3 years minimum experience in media relations or marketing and promotions, with 5 years preferred Excellent writing skills Effective organizational and communications skills Ability to handle multiple priorities in a very fast-paced environment Ability to work in a team environment and interact with all levels of staff, volunteers and the public is a must.
