Job Summary Provides general secretarial and clerical support to Purchasing Agents and their respective client groups. Administers purchasing processes to assure correct transactions are executedGeneral Functions Reviews Open Order Reports weekly for assigned commodities, assures accuracy of delivery dates by follow-up with suppliers in sufficient lead time to prevent material shortages or delays. Contacts suppliers for expedite and de-expedite requests. Reviews purchase order acknowledgements and invoices, assists buyers in resolving any discrepancies as may be noted by suppliers. Resolves problems that arise in relation to delivery dates, specifications, quantity or cost of purchased goods or services. May need guidance from buyer for more complex issues. Process requisitions, purchase orders, debit orders and supplier non-conformances. May place purchase orders or complete purchase transactions using Procurement Card. May request price comparisons from suppliers. Ensures that all activities are in compliance with company policies and practices. Obtains prints, specifications, and other documents required to issue complete purchase orders. Creates report and spreadsheets as required to support buying and project tracking activities. Updates database information such as: cost savings, project status tracking, standard costs, etc. Track freight and obtaining proof of delivery. Coordinates and arranges meetings for buyers with suppliers and Zimmer representatives from other functional areas.This is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and may not necessarily comprise all of the "essential functions" for purposes of the ADAExpected Areas of Competence Address problems quickly and effectively using factual data, possess situational flexibility, and know the resources to approach for efficient resolution. Employee is expected to operate with minimal supervision. Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree is preferred.Skill Requirements Proficiency with personal computers and software including Microsoft office suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required Organizational and quick learning skills are required. Experience with J.D. Edwards or similar ERP software is a plus. Must be able to type 45 wpm with 95 percent accuracy. Education: High School Diploma / GEDJob Level: 1 - 2 yearsPercent Travel: 1-10%
