Counselor/Child Care Worker

Counselors needed for Adult and Adolescent Residential Program to provide direct care and supervision to residents.

Responsibilities

Responsible for recording client activities; and oversee and reports daily routines
uses appropriate de-escalation, and crisis intervention in reponse to problems
establishes positive relationships with residents within professional boundaries
Supervises a caseload of inmate substance abusers, records activities, progress and attendance of clients in charts in a timely manner.

Performs one-to-one counseling, supervises and/or participates in group encounters, supervises and/or participates in all official functions of the program including community group meetings, public speaking engagements, and other functions as may be assigned by senior staff.

Requirements
High School completion or equivalency is required.

Must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license.

Knowledge or interest in the field of substance abuse treatment or two years of paid or volunteer experience in a social service agency or setting.

* Must meet CDC security clearance requirements(if applyig to work with adolescents).

Must be drug and alcohol free for a minimum of three (3) years.
