DIETITIAN - PART TIME, FOOD AND NUTRITION SERVICES, 1ST SHIFT

Under minimal supervision, the clinical dietitian is responsible for the development of nutrition care plans, including nutrition assessment and reassessment, education, implementation of nutrition care, and documentation for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The clinical dietitian also educates personnel, students, and the community regarding nutrition for optimal health. Job responsibilities also include the development and revision of educational materials, education and training of dietetic technicians and dietetic interns, and participation in medical team activities. Will act as a positive role model and representative of the Food and Nutrition Services Department to all staff, customers and community.

Knowledge normally acquired through:
Completion of a B.S. or B.A. degree in food and nutrition or dietetics.
Completion of an ADA approved internship or coordinated undergraduate program.
Current ADA registration or registry eligible and Certified Dietitian, State of Wisconsin. If registry eligible, must successfully pass registration examination within one (1) year and after passing registration examination, immediately become a Certified Dietitian, State of Wisconsin.
Effective oral and written communication skills required. Must have thorough knowledge of normal and therapeutic nutrition
Ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions and to accept constructive criticism.
Possesses interpersonal skills necessary to deal tactfully with other staff, patients, visitors, government agencies/staff and the general public.
Ability to maintain total confidentiality of patient records.
Ability to work attentively and accurately for 95% of the day.
Ability to operate the CBORD program.
Ability to work on weekends and holidays.
Ability to perform computer entries, use a calculator and telephone and perform mathematics calculations.
Possesses organizational skills and leadership qualities, and is flexible when necessary.
Effective oral and written communication skills required. Must have a thorough knowledge of normal and therapeutic nutrition.
