DIRECTOR, MEDICAL STAFF OFFICE

Responsible for managing the credentialing of physicians and allied health professionals applying for membership and clinical privileges at Park Plaza Hospital and Medical Center, per JCAHO guidelines.  Oversees the support of the Medical Staff organization by efficiently managing the department and committee board meetings and providing agendas and minutes. Must assist with the CredentialsCommittee, Executive Committee, and Governing Board meetings.  Coordinates and plans the Continuing Education Program and maintain the accreditation of PPH by the Texas Medical Association for the Continuing Medical Education program. 

 

Minimum Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.  Associates degree or higher, preferred. 

 

Required Certification:  CMSC or CPCS, strongly preferred.

 

Minimum Experience: At least (3) years experience as a Medical Staff Coordinator/Credentialer, Supervisor or Management level in an acute care facility.

 

Skills: Effective customer service and organizational skills, ability to

use various computer applications - word processing essential, database experience preferred.  Ability to communicate and effectively present

information to internal and external groups and audiences.  Attention to detail a must.
