Data Analyst or Senior Data Analyst-32976

WellPoint is the nation's leading health benefits company serving the needs of approximately 28 million medical members nationwide.Responsible for analyzing, reporting and developing recommendations on data related to complex and varied operational metrics.  Essential duties include but are not limited to: analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures; develops and analyzes operational performance reports (e.g., for provider data, utilization data) creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports. May require taking operational issue and devising best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools. May make recommendations based upon data analysis. Performs other duties as assigned.BS/BA, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and 2-5 years data analysisor related experienceand programming experience in SAS, SQL, are required. Knowledge Microsoft Access is a plus. Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software required. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with good written communication skills required.
