Data Management/Systems Analyst

Our Medical Records Department seeks a Data Management/Systems Analyst.  This position conducts chart reviews, compiles data and presents data and graphs.  Functions as the department Information Systems liaison to support MediTech modules for medical records and medical staff as needed. Attends Quality Control meetings and ISSG meetings.

Essential Functions:

-  Conducts medical record chart review for indicators related to physician documentation.  Participates in other quality Assurance activities as assigned.

-  Compiles data and presents data and graphs utilizing hospital data analyzer program (PLATO).

-  Run monthly reports including, EMS and OneLegacy.  Run Physician Activity reports on demand.  Run Statistical reports for Medical Records Department.

-  Works with IS to ensure medical records staff has computer access needed to complete job functions.  Contact and follow up with IS & MediTech via phone and/or Internet (includes Perot)

-  Function as IS liaison to support MediTech modules for abstracting, medical record, transcription, creating menus, and testing new updates. 

Position Qualifications:

-  High School Diploma or GED equivalent

-  3 years of medical records experience

-  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

-  College level medical terminology (preferred)

-  Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and/or registered Health Information Technican (RHIT)

-  Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or enrollment in a healthcare related program
