Data Reporting Analyst

Location: Boston, MA 02118 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Administrative/Clerical Work Experience: 2+ to 5 Years Career Level:Experienced (Non-Manager) Education Level: Bachelor's Degree POSITION SUMMARY:Working under the supervision of the CMO Project Manager of the Office of the Chief Medical Officer the Data Manager is responsible for the management, collection, and entry of hospital-wide quality outcomes data. Prepares and distributes Physician Activity Reports (PARs) as requested. Responsible for data analysis and report production activities related to internal and/or client deliverables.  Designs, develops, modifies tests, implements, and delivers internal and client reports.  Serves as data expert on information contained in databases.  To be successful working in an academic medical center environment, this position requires strong communication and organizational skills.  EDUCATION:Requires Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in relevant field and minimum two years of related experience.  EXPERIENCE: Experience working effectively as a team member with other professional staff, understanding their data requirements and translating the data requirements into SQL queries Knowledge of databases, spreadsheet software and statistical programs. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Strong analytical and problem solving skills, proficient in data manipulation and extraction techniques and able to interpret results of query analysis. Competency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.  Proficient in database management and reporting including: .NET, SQL Server, and MS Access. Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to prepare and deliver presentations Ability to prepare high quality ad hoc and routine reports according to established timelines. Ability to present data through graphs and charts Understanding of project management concepts in planning and implementing multiple projects in a cross functional environment. Ability to work independently, take initiative, meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities in entrepreneurial, dynamic, fast paced environment. Knowledge of HIPPA requirements, including EDI, privacy, and security regulations. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and maintain confidentiality. Database development and management skills preferred.
