Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) seeks several highlymotivated Development Officers to join its Major Gifts Team. The Major Giftsteam is part of a 55- member (and growing) Development Department that lastyear raised $75 million to support the work of this world renowned hospital. Approximately 70 percent of thesefunds came from major gifts from individuals.

 

BWH is building its development program and expanding thestaff during the first phase of a $500 million comprehensive campaign. Thecampaign, ChallengingBoundaries/Transforming Lives will help to ensure that the hospital remainsat the forefront of patient care, research, and education – both locally andglobally- and continues as one of the nation’s pre-eminent medicalcenters. 

To fill these positions, BWH seeks bright,talented, energetic individuals who are passionate about the mission ofacademic medicine.  Ideal candidates willpossess experience raising money for a nonprofit. However, talented andseasoned professionals who possess comparable skills and core competencies willalso be considered.  Candidates must havestrong interpersonal skills that include sound judgment and intuition as wellas persuasive and motivational abilities. They must be ambitious, resourceful, flexible, organized, andgoal-oriented. The ability to write and communicate clearly and cogently is akey requirement of this position, as is some experience with or exposure to theinner working of large, complex organizations.
