Dietary Manager

Job Purpose:  Plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operations of the Dietary Department in a Long Term Care facility consisting with federal, state and local laws as well as company policy.

All food service managers not listed separately.

Duties:

*  Participates in policy development and implementation.

*  Executes required reports and participates in meetings with the discussions affecting residents.

*  Ensures compliance with cleanliness standards.

*  Inspects food storage and kitchen operations for compliance with standards.  Correct deficiencies expediously.

*  Monitors quality and quantity of food product.

* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

* Maintains a library of menus and references necessary for complying with regulatory guidance.

*  Work closely with nursing staff to ensure appropriate menus for residents. 

*  Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

*  CDM required
