We serve a diverse customer base within the health care community, including health care payers, providers, employers, pharmaceutical companies, consumers, workers’ compensation and auto liability insurers, and government agencies.   This position provides leadership, management skills and matrix organizational skills to accomplish the goals and objectives of Ingenix’s compliance program, including compliance with HIPAA and international privacy laws, federal and state regulations, and Sarbanes Oxley/SAS-70, and Ingenix’s Ethics and Integrity program. Lead a comprehensive compliance program that monitors compliance with state, local, and federal legislation and which meets the best business practices standards in health care. Identify which regulations impact Ingenix products and services and work with Ingenix business units to confirm compliance requirements. Develop and maintain an organizational structure for compliance, operational standards, and policies and procedures to meet the objectives of the compliance program. Manage the HIPAA Compliance Program which includes Privacy, Security, NPI, and transaction compliance initiatives, requirements, and activities.  Managing the Disclosure Limitation Program which supports the Ingenix de-identification methodology. Maintain working knowledge of HIPAA regulations, the managed care industry, the competitive environment, pertinent regulatory legislation, etc. Assist with Sarbanes Oxley and SAS-70 General Computing Control compliance. Coordinate audits; communicate/educate on compliance requirements. Manage all activities related to the compliance program. Responsible for managing and coordination of compliance audits (internal or customer related audits). Act as back-up for business continuity planning and emergency management activities. Lead the Ingenix Ethics and Integrity Program. Responsible for publicizing a reporting system whereby employees can report violations of the company’s policies and procedures. This includes responding to complaints and non-compliance without fear of retribution, and maintaining a procedure to investigate the complaints and recommend corrective action. Review new product and service development to confirm compliance requirements. Establish and maintain a high profile within Ingenix pertaining to HIPAA compliance, regulatory compliance, and ethics. Manage direct reports and matrixed compliance organization by setting performance expectations and goals.  Foster a cohesive and supportive team environment. Successful candidate will have the following qualifications and competencies: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. MBA or JD desirable. Five or more years experience in the health care desired.  Knowledge and Experience with HIPAA regulations and standards. Knowledge of international privacy laws, False Claims Act, prompt pay laws and the Stark Act highly desirable. Extensive understanding of the health care industry.  Technical experience or software product knowledge is desirable. Adept at understanding complex concepts and situations presented by the business environment. Exceptional written, verbal, analytical, organizational, problem solving, and presentational skills.  Ability to assess complex problems and provide the appropriate compliance solution. Very strong consultative skills. Leadership skills, including “change agent” capability. Objective, unbiased approach to situations. Ability to understand operational changes necessary to meet performance, accreditation, and regulatory requirements. Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
