CSG, a leading provider of mental health (MH), mental retardation (MR), children’s and eldercare services has full time, part time and floater Direct Support Advisor opportunities in our MR residential program throughout the Lehigh Valley area.. 

Shifts are mainly 2nd shift (3:00PM to 11:00PM) and 3rd shift (11:00PM to 9:00AM)

CSG provides community group homes to individuals with mental retardation/developmental disabilities. In Community Living Arrangements, individuals live together and receive support from trained, experienced and dedicated staff.

The goal of our residential programs is to encourage and assist individuals to achieve their greatest potential of independent living. The number of residents in each home and the level of supervision vary based on the needs of the individuals living there.

 

Job Description

 

The Advisor is responsible for fostering independent living skills in individuals who have developmental disabilities and live in a community residential program.  The Advisor participates in the implementing of client programming; is responsible for client care; and the routine operation of home while on duty.



 

Job Duties

 

Ensures clients’ health, safety and welfare, enhances the quality of clients’ lives, and integrates clients into the community.Participates in the implementing of all program plans designed to enhance the client’s social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and independent living skills.Completes all daily, weekly and monthly records, reports, logs, casework notes, facility, administrative, fiscal reports, and medical records in a timely fashion.Communicates and cooperates with on-site team, client’s family, involved agencies, and the community in providing relevant information when needed and applicable.Supervises and/or completes all duties and responsibilities in the daily operation of the residence.Performs other duties as assigned.







 Job Requirements



 

Must be 18 years of age and have either a high school diploma or GED certification.

Must possess good communication skills; possess a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

 

Condition of Employment

 

Must be able to pass criminal history background checks.

 

 Desirable Experience



 

Experience working with individuals with MH and/or MR disabilities or pursuing a degree in human services preferred
