Director, Corporate Sales - Indianapolis, IN Req. # 61685Position Description The Corporate Sales Director has leadership responsibility for developing and implementing regionally and locally-based contracts that support Medtronic’s CRDM business strategies and objectives.  The primary responsibility will be to work with the sales management team and the Regional Vice Presidents to develop strategies and tactics that support revenue and market share growth in regional IDNs, independent hospitals, and regional GPO membership.  Other key responsibilities will be cross-functional team building, development of contracting strategy, leading negotiations, the education and positioning of Medtronic’s value offering, managing pricing integrity and protecting margins. Position Responsibilities Key duties & responsibilities:• Develop and implement regional contracting strategies for local hospitals and IDNs that are consistent with corporate objectives and which support corporate sales strategies. • Develop and implement strategies based on GPO business plans which maximize return on investment • Negotiate and manage contracts with key customers. • Maximize contract profitability. • Develop and maintain relationships in the business and administrative offices of key hospitals and systems. • Perform quarterly business reviews with key IDNs and hospital customers. • Support quarterly business review efforts with regional offices and local sales teams. • Provide leadership and direction for all RFPs and LNCs within the region. • Ensure that corporate sales strategies are designed to support quota attainment and revenue growth. • Provide coaching, guidance and support to the sales organization on the execution of corporate sales strategies and best practices. • Train and develop regional sales leadership on negotiation skills. • Ensure that pricing integrity is maintained across the region and consistent with national strategies.Qualification requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • Ability to travel • Experience in reading, analyzing and writing contracts and proposals • Strong selling and negotiation skills • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing, verbally and in presentations Basic Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree • 5 years sales experience • Experience in reading, analyzing and writing contracts and proposals Desired/Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, communications, accounting or finance • MBA or masters degree in marketing or communications • Medical sales or high tech sales experience • Experience reading and analyzing contracts and proposals • Proven ability as a leader in defining and developing business or markets • Demonstrated ability to operate in a matrixed marketing environment and to work effectively with sales, sales management and customers • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills • Proven ability to build and facilitate strong, productive working relationships with a wide variety of cross-functional and customer contacts. • High degree of flexibility and adaptability in a rapidly changing business/negotiation environment;  ability to rapidly acclimate to change and embrace new business opportunities • Excellent teamwork and leadership abilities Physical Job Requirements Physical demands: The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
