Job description:

·  This job is responsible for in-depth strategic sourcing of complex service categories that involves market research, category due diligence, customer utilization analysis, requirements and scope development, planning of sourcing strategy, managing the RFP process, interpreting and analyzing supplier proposals and negotiating contract terms and conditions.

 

·  Demonstrate creativity in problem resolution for assigned contract initiatives and provide prompt and responsive service to clients, including internal departments, in high pressure situations.

 

·  Maintain timely achievement of all assigned projects, ensuring contracting activities adhere to all established policies and procedures and standards of business conduct.

 

·  Develop and present contracting strategies and bid results to key customer stakeholder committees to seek approval of strategies, requirements and award decisions. Accountable for results of contracting initiatives.  Provide regular updates of outcomes to management.

 

·  Responsible for continuously improving contracting processes to ensure that each resulting contract is outstanding in quality and meets customer’s specific requirements.

 

·  Demonstrate a high work ethic, professionalism, and constructive approach to problem solving. Strong aptitude in contract strategy development, supplier negotiations, financial modeling, market research and contract problem resolution.  Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment

 

·  Assist with the development of contract launch packages and implementation plans for newly awarded contracts.  Work collaboratively with suppliers, customers and internal staff to achieve successful implementation.

 

·  Responsible for management of assigned portfolio of contracts, in addition to maintaining on-going familiarity with Broadlane’s national portfolio of contracts.



·  Limited travel as required

 

Requirements: 



1) Thorough understanding of core sourcing processes which includes market research, development of contracting strategy and requirements, administration of bid processes, negotiation of complex contract terms, customer/committee interaction and on-going contract management. 

 

2) Strong negotiation skills and thorough understanding of contract terms and conditions. Able to identify contractual risks and propose alternate language toward a solution. Proficient in identifying cost savings opportunities and mitigating business risk.

 

3) Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team, sharing resources and working toward team goals. Ability to maintain grace under pressure in difficult situations while displaying a high level of professional courtesy.

4) Critical Reasoning Skills

 

5) Bachelor's college degree required- preferred advanced degree

 

6) Minimum of 7-10 years in healthcare industry
