Director of Accounting

We are experiencing incredible growth and have an immediate opening for a Director of Accounting. The position provides internal and/or external financial analysis, consultation and support; manages 2-3 employees engaged in the finance function; handles work that involves a high level of independent judgment, decision making, creativity and initiative; develops and presents data to the leadership to the organization, strategically interpreting business information; and proactively finds financial opportunity and leading change.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for directing and coordinating the work in all aspects of accounting including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and various detailed analyses.
• Maintain detailed fixed asset lists.
• Responsible for daily cash management reporting.
• Responsible for the development of policies, systems, special financial studies, etc. of major importance.
• Duties require broad conceptual judgment, initiative and ability to deal with complex accounting issues.
• Prepare reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
• Direct preparation of budgets, optimizes business plans to improve business results.
• Coordinate the month-end and year-end closing process.
• Review company financial statements for accuracy and clarity.
• Prepares various cash, AP and capitalization reports on a monthly basis.
• Reviews and approves accounts payable, i.e., verifies that the payables comply with company policy.
• Books necessary journal entries on a monthly basis.
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.


Required Experience:
• 5 years minimum experience in all aspects of accounting.
• Big 4 experience preferred, technical accounting knowledge and experience.
• Demonstrated complex problem solving skills and strong analytical abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven supervisory experience.
• Proficient computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Great Plains and Fr(x) preferred.


Required Education:
• BS Degree in Accounting or Finance/Business with accounting emphasis.
• CPA is preferred but not required.
