Director of Nursing - Emergency Services

This is an outstanding opportunity to join one of the largest not-for-profit healthcare systems in the state of South Carolina.  This healthcare system has a solid reputation for providing quality and cutting edge healthcare in the northwest region of the state.  At this time they are a five hospital system, with their flagship being a 729 bed Level I Trauma Center and academic teaching facility offering service excellence in Oncology, Orthopedics, Cardiology and Women's and Children's Services.The Nursing Director of Emergency Services oversees the functions of both the Adult and Pediatric Emergency Departments.  Combined there are a total of 90 beds seeing greater than 85,000 visits annually.  The Emergency Department is currently in a state of renovation.  Within the adult area, they have a Chest Pain Center, CHS/Stroke Observation area, Critical Care section, Intermediate Care Section, Fast Track, Trauma Bays and a Behavioral Health Annex.  The department is staffed with approximately 200 FTE's two managers and seven supervisors with a direct report to the Senior Administrator of the main campus.A qualified candidate for this position must be RN, BSN required or MSN required.  Must have large hospital(400+) beds ER experience.  Prefer Level I Trauma experience as well as University Academic experience.  Have to have actual Management experience at a minimum of 3-5 years at a Managers of Directors level.  Must be calm, have a pleasant demeanor, be able to hold people accountable, be fair, staff supportive, have strong interpersonal skills, be a visionary, a mentor, guide and nurture.This area of South Carolina offers many amenities.  Located in the northwestern section of the state, the city is two hours east of Atlanta, GA, one hour north of Columbia, SC, two hours west of Charlotte, NC and an hour south of the North Carolina mountains.  The city is culturally rich with international industry.
