Director of Perioperative Services

 

We have an exceptional opportunity for a Director of Perioperative Services who will be responsible for professional nursing care and related assistance to perioperative patients.

 

Responsibilities include: 

· Provide direction to the Clinical Managers, Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, and non-professional nursing personnel in providing direct patient care and in providing supervision of the Surgical Services area

· Support the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the objectives of the Hospital

· Apply knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span to identify patient and family requirements relative to age specific needs

· Accept accountability for successful department operations and sees logic and methods to solve varied and complex problems

· Assume responsibility for doing the right and just thing in all situations

· Develop and maintain Performance Improvement initiatives specific to department

· Establish clear objectives and goals for work team

· Give performance evaluations on time, providing clear job standards and expectations to staff

· Deal with problems in employee performance and behavior by administering performance management in a consistent and timely manner

· Actively strive to increase employee retention rate

· Make proper assignment of personnel and manage staffing schedules effectively and efficiently

· Monitor and compare expenses to budget on a regular basis

Develop unit specific policy and procedures to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications include:

· 5 years General OR and previous management experience preferred

· Must be graduate of Accredited School of Nursing for the Registered Nurse

· BSN, Masters Prepared (Business or Nursing) preferred

· Must have valid RN Licensure in the state of Texas

· American Heart Association Health Care Provider preferred
