Director of Product Strategy

Primary Purpose

Develop and lead strategic business and project plans for new products and services for technology-driven health improvement company. Candidate will be responsible for leading and conducting strategic assessments for full lifecycle of product development, including identification, qualification, evaluation and implementation. 

 

The successful candidate will have formal skills and training in project planning, research and business analysis and also exceptional ability to work collaboratively with senior level managers and other internal and external stakeholders.

 

Candidate will also provide work direction, leadership and training for more junior staff.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·  Develop strategic business plans for evaluating new products and services

·  Manage product strategy teams (non-direct reports) and other key internal stakeholders involved in product development, evaluation, marketing, finance and sales towards consensus development

·  Identify and qualify external companies and/or individuals for partnership to support product strategy and development

·  Develop and implement detailed project plans, including contingency modeling, to assist in driving timetables and deliverables, and gain participation and trust of stakeholders in adoption and use of project plans as a tool

·  Develop and lead market research plans, including customer surveys, to document and support product strategy and willingness to buy

·  Work with junior staff for assistance in completing research and competitor analyses

·  Synthesize and present results into coherent written plans and presentationsAttend industry and product specific conferences

·  Monitor industry, market and customer trends, capabilities, strategies and need for new products and services

Education and Experience

·  Graduate degree (PhD, MBA or Masters) in relevant field, or Bachelors with Certification as Project Management Professional required

·  5+ years work experience in project management, strategy, or related field with progressive management responsibilities

·  Strong healthcare experience and knowledge

·  Experience in market research, competitor analysis, business/strategic planning and financial forecasting

·  Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with senior management

·  Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
