Director of the Cath Lab

Position DescriptionThe Director of the Cath Lab is a “hands-on” position responsible for the daily management of the three cath labs, as well as the angiography suite.  Approximately 3,200 procedures are handled annually in the cath labs, and approximately 1,400 in the angiography suite.  This position reports to the Vice President of Surgical Services and oversees 29 FTEs, with the support of a team leader.   Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five years of director-level experience in the cath lab.  The ideal candidate will be clinically competent with exceptional relationship building skills, the ability to set clear expectations and hold staff accountable, with strong business acumen and supportive of the shared-decision making model.  A solid understanding of Joint Commission standards and a Bachelor’s degree are required; current RN license is preferred.   Hospital DescriptionThis is a 443-bed, Joint Commission accredited, not-for-profit, community and teaching hospital, as well as a regional center for cancer and cardiac medicine.  The hospital’s heart center performs more open-heart and cardiac catheterization procedures than all other hospitals in the region combined.  Additionally, the hospital is one of six designated perinatal centers in Georgia and is the area’s only provider of maternal care, neonatal intensive care, cardiovascular surgery, mental health, and radiation oncology services.  In addition to the main hospital campus, the organization has convenient care centers and family medical centers to provide services to communities within a 100 mile radius of the city.   The facility is nationally recognized for its exceptional level of care and enjoys a reputation as one of the nation’s best not-for-profit community hospitals.  The hospital is a recent recipient of VHA’s Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence, and has been recognized by Solucient as a Most Improved Hospital.   Community DescriptionLocated in Southwest Georgia, this city is considered the industry, business, retail, education, cultural activities, healthcare and media hub for a large, growing region that includes parts of Florida and Alabama as well as Georgia.  Approximately 80,000 people call this city home and with a metropolitan area of five counties, over 160,000 people live, work, play in the community.  Enjoy the perfect exposure to a deeply Southern experience and spend some time relaxing and appreciating the area’s cultural attractions, unique shopping, and dining opportunities.  Take in a night of arena football or explore the swamps, forests, and animal zoo, or travel to the depths of underwater springs without getting wet.  Educational opportunities range from public, private, and parochial schools to colleges and universities.  The city has the lowest housing and transportation costs of Georgia’s metropolitan areas, and according to the most recent cost of living index information holds the title of Georgia’s lowest cost of living urban area.
