ERP Applications Manager

 

Skinner and Associates (www.SkinnerandAssociates.com ) is a Healthcare IT recruiting firm. We currently have a major health care system in Peoria, IL, seeking an ERP Applications Manager.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for the stewardship of resources to deliver information services in the ERP application areas within the Information Services Division. Serves as a leader in the development of team members and effective teams. Responsible for the identification, prioritization, resolution of issues, and the allocation of workload and resources within the application areas that support HR/Payroll, Pension, Material Management/AP and other associated areas. Provides system support services to organizational department responsible for ERP services. Ensures coordination and integration of workflow with other departments in the Information Services Division. Manages expenses, prepares status reports, and makes recommendations for service and product enhancements. Monitors performance and continuously improves the quality of services and products delivered. Leads the Advisory Councils and obtains feedback from end users to establish the direction, goals, and priorities of the ERP Application Teams. Serves as a key liaison with the leaders.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:A. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Develops workplans, assigns work, provides guidance and directs activities of staff utilizing management tools in order to maximize productivity and equalize workloads.

2. Monitors quality of work to ensure that services and solutions delivered meet business requirements and are based on departmental standards.

3. Works with the Director of Financials and Resource Mgmt Systems to develop operational and capital budgets necessary to accomplish goals, to ensure adherence to budgets through periodic review of financial reports, and to document variances from planned expenditures.

4. Maintains knowledge of application and technology policies, standards and methodologies and works with Directors, other Managers, and staff to ensure that those practices are followed.

5. Develops and maintains positive working relationships and effective communications with each division of Information Services, other departments of OSF Healthcare, and with the facility customer base served. 6. Prepares activity and progress reports based on current workplans.

7. Develops useful indicators and techniques for monitoring and measurement of team performance, develops tools to report on performance, and uses performance indicators as a key input to continuously improve services.

8. Provides input into the strategic and tactical information system plan by proposing projects, preparing scope, timeline, deliverables and feasibility documents including the estimated cost of required resources. 9. Evaluates and makes recommendations to ensure that department staffing levels remain at acceptable levels and staff has appropriate tools and training to deliver expected services.

10. Prepares and facilitates presentations utilizing appropriate resources and communication skills.

11. Fosters teamwork and professional growth through positive reinforcement and coaching.

12. Maintains a work environment in which teamwork is valued and acknowledged.

13. Maintains a professional development focus by facilitating cross-training and providing educational opportunities appropriate to individual staff members.

14. Ensures that staff follow security and ethical policies and provides counseling when necessary.

15. Performs annual reviews and conducts performance management discussions with direct reports.

16. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

 

A. EDUCATION/TRAINING:Knowledge of healthcare delivery and management, information technology, basic budgeting, and healthcare legislation at a level normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Business Administration, Computer Science, Accounting or other Allied Health Profession, or other closely related field in order to understand information technology and management principles.

 

B. EXPERIENCE:

1. At least five years experience in information technology with three years within the Healthcare industry.

2. At least five years experience leading others.

3. Experience with application implementation and support in the healthcare industry.

4. Experience managing interdisciplinary projects that include various health care providers, hospital leadership, and information system professionals.

5. Experience with PeopleSoft or other complex ERP systems.

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:The ERP Application Manager reports directly to the Director of Financial and Resource Mgmt Systems.
