Emergency Medical Technician - Case Aide

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) currently has three openings for a full-time Emergency Medical Technician / Case Aide in our Behavioral Health Program located on the north side of Chicago. Ideal candidate must possess an E.M.T. license and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking an individual to handle our shift opening from 12 a. m. - 8 a. m., 4 p.m. - 12 a.m. and 8 a.m. - 4 p. m.High school diploma/GED required and be willing to receive 40 hours of alcoholism and drug abuse training. Must have valid IL driver`s license and automobile liability insurance. Excellent benefit package including retirement, paid vacation, 10 paid holidays a year and insurance. EOE

Responsibilities:

1. Provide client assessments, monitoring and linkage to appropriate services both within LSSI and other community agencies.
2. Complete Detox assessment forms and all other paper work related to client services.
3. Transport clients, as needed.
4. Be familiar with all emergency procedures.
5. Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences.

Requirements:

1. Must be a certified emergency medical technician.
2. Must have a valid Illinois driver`s license and auto liability insurance.
3. Current EMT License from the state of Illinois.
4. High school diploma or GED.
