Assists with the management of clinical, human and other resources within the Emergency Department. Functions as a role model. Provides clinical expertise in evaluating emergency patient assessment, care, discharge and transfer. Provides guidance related to standards of care/practice, policies and procedures, and practice guidelines. Reinforces regulatory standards with staff, physicians, and health care providers. Provides direct patient care as needed. Supports/reinforces developed goals and objectives to sustain the department in the changing health care environment. Maintains competence in clinical nursing practice and obtains relative education. Job Qualifications: Ability to read and communicate in the English language. High school graduate or equivalent required. Successful completion of an accredited school of nursing program. New Jersey RN license required. BSN required. MSN, CEN, and TNCC preferred. Five years clinical experience in Emergency Room Nursing required. Prior management experience preferred. Base knowledge of performance improvement and regulations specific to Emergency Room including EMTALA. Possesses education skills, knowledge of and ability to use computers, solid human relations skills.
