Employee Health Specialist
Marin General Hospital, a not-for-profit facility, opened in May 1952. It is the largest acute care hospital in Marin County and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Marin General Hospital is licensed for 235 acute care beds and works in close partnership with Novato Community Hospital to provide for the health care needs of 175,000 residents of Marin County. Marin General Hospital affiliated with Sutter Health in 1996. Recent additions include a new Cardiac Cath Lab (opened in November 2006), and the installation of a new $1.6 million CT Scanner.The largest acute care hospital in Marin County with 235 licensed beds, Marin General Hospital works in close partnership with Novato Community Hospital to provide for the health care needs of 175,000 residents of Marin County. Primary and secondary levels of care include a basic emergency department, neonatal intensive care, pediatrics, a family birthing center, home care, adult psychiatric units and a cardiac catheterization laboratory. The Marin Cancer Institute, Marin Heart Institute and a Shared Care Unit, which provides family-centered care for patients with cancer, diabetes, or AIDS, offer extended health care services to the community. This position supports the department in managing the flow of information and data to facilitate medical management of incidents occurring in the facilities. This position is responsible for actively supporting the Medical Management and Exposure Follow-up processes for the Department through daily processing of forms and reports; providing support to the Nurse Practitioners by obtaining authorizations for treatment; scheduling appointments; monitoring employee compliance with medical treatment plan; tracking and reporting missed/rescheduled appointments; monitoring reports from specialists and ancillary treatment providers. Completes data entry for all incidents in the EH database on a continual basis to support medical case management and compliance with regulatory agencies.Education:Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from 2-year college of technical school preferred; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in computer skills including word-processing and report writing. Experience:Experience in setting up systems and organizing processes for efficiency is a requirement for this position along with attention to detail. Experience in Workers' Compensation and Employee Health/Infectous Disease surveillance is needed to perform this role. Excellent interpersonal skills are required for communicating with managers, insurance carriers, and office personnel in physicians offices and with members of the Employee Health team.
