SUMMARY OF POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Performs various cleaning functions in accordance with the standard techniques and procedures developed by the Environmental Services Department. Reports directly to the Environmental Services' Supervisor for assignment and instructions.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

1. Some formal education, training, or practical experience in order to understand written and/or oral instructions and manufacturer's instructions on mixing cleaning chemicals.

2. Ability to learn cleaning tasks involving multiple steps and a variety of tools and chemicals.

3. Ability to work independently without direct supervision.

4. Possesses interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with hospital staff, primarily Nursing, patients and visitors.
