Experienced Medical Biller/Collector for Medical practice

Job Purpose:

 billing insurance companies, third parties and patients, making payment arrangements; collecting accounts; monitoring and pursuing delinquent accounts.



Duties:



Biller/Collections person will be directly responsible for:

*medical coding, charges/pmts, authorizations, billing, payment posting, accounts receivable management, patient statements and collections. 

*Maintaining bad-debt cost report by tracking billings; monitoring collections; compiling information.

* Collects delinquent accounts by working with inurance companies and patients; establishing payment arrangements with patients; monitoring payments; following up with patients when payment lapses occur.

* Medical Biller/Collector should have at least 2 years experience in medical billing/collections.

* Medical Biller/Collector needs good computer skills and ability to multi-task in fast paced environment.

* Job offers potential for promotion to Medical Office Manager position.



 Requirements:



1. 2-5 years billing/collections experience in small to medium size medical office environment 

2. Experience with Medical Manager Software

3. Professional, friendly approach to patients and co-workers

4. Self-starter, tenacious, having a high level of energy

5. Confidence, flexibility, team spirit, and strong work ethic

 

The following skills, while not required, will support your candidacy:


 Good working knowledge of Oncology Reimbursement knowledge of capitation billing and contracts knowledge of oncology drugs, terminology, CPT, ICD-9 & HCPCS coding Medical Front Office experience a plus
