Field Service Specialist, Biomedical Engineering-Bay

Sutter Health Support Services (SHSS) is the Support Center for the Sutter Health affiliates, which houses all non-medical support departments that are not provided at the affiliates. It provides expertise and guidance to support affiliate functional departments.Sutter Health Support Services is the home office of Sutter Health, Northern California's largest non-profit network of hospitals, long-term care centers, physician groups, medical foundations, research institutes, and home health agencies.  The departments at the home office help support the Sutter Health affiliate network through Finance, Training, Human Resources, Risk Management, Marketing, and Legal Counsel, just to name a few. The Field Service Specialist performs Quality Assurance inspections and routine repairs on a variety of general diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices or a specialized service segment at clients located throughout the Service Center’s catchment area.   Education:Minimum of an Associate Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent experience in medical equipment electronics as would typically be acquired over 2 years or working experience involving basic principles of electronics.  Experience:Experience in the medical equipment service industry.  A.A.M.I. (Association for the Advancement Medical Instrumentation) certification for Biomedical Equipment Technician is highly desirable.  Extensive skills in an individual product segment or demonstrable skills in troubleshooting and repair in two or more of the following areas is required:  Anesthesia equipment Surgical equipment  Respiratory equipment Patient Monitoring equipment  Imaging equipment  Specialty Laboratory equipment  General Biomedical equipment  Knowledge:Human Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, and regulatory requirements including Title 22, JCAHO, and CAP are desirable.  Special Skills/Equipment:Individual must possess a valid California Driver License.  Also, must maintain insurability as defined by the company insurance underwriters.audible indicators.Some overnight travel may be required.
