Food Service Director

We are currently recruiting an experienced culinary chef to fill the position of the Food Service Director at The Peninsula, a premier Assisted Living Community in Hollywood, FL.

Position Summary

The F&B Director oversees and controls the day-to-day operations of the Food & Beverage Department by assuming responsibility for obtaining, preparing, and serving attractive and nourishing meals to residents and guests, supervising all F&B staff, managing department budget, adhering to company policies and procedures, complying with applicable federal, state and local laws & regulations.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

·  Supervises the preparation and cooking of food; develops well-balanced menus.

·  Maintains a quality assurance program that
guarantees residents receive fresh, tasty, well-prepared
meals, served promptly and politely.

·  Maintains food cost on a daily basis and is
responsible to ensure budgetary compliance.

·  Responsible for purchasing all food and non-food
items.

·  Ensures that all food and beverage is stored,
handled and prepared under safe sanitary
conditions as set forth by the company and the local,
state and county health departments.

·  Acts as the facility’s representative for any health
department of other required inspections; assure
compliance, follow up to assure any deficiencies are
immediately corrected.

·  Hires, trains, disciplines and terminates
departmental employees in accordance with
company P&P.

·  Oversees the scheduling of all food service personnel
to maintain compliance with budgetary guidelines.Assures all departmental training standards are met and up to date.Maintains all department logs.

 Credentials:

 CDMProfessional with experience specific to retirement housing, assisted living, long-term care or related fields.Experience and/or training in Food Service ManagementObtain/hold any local, state and/or county required food handling/sanitation licenses and/or certificates.Sincere appreciation of elderly persons and their continued place in society as well as strong human relations skills. Ability to support community during severe weather conditions and/or emergency situations.Ability work some weekends as manager on duty.
