Full-Time Emergency Veterinary Technician

The Sarasota Veterinary Emergency Hospital in south Sarasota is looking for a full-time experienced veterinary technician.Must have excellent customer service skills, as our hospital strives to provide outstanding customer care.  We offer excellent hourly pay rates and benefits.  Benefits include health insurance after 6 months, quarterly bonuses, and paid continuing education.  We have all the latest equipment to practice excellent emergency medicine.Veterinary opthalmology, surgery, and internal medicine available within the same plaza.

Requirements for this position include:
1.  Must be able to place IV catheters in all size patients (dogs and cats). 
2.  Must be familiar with sterile surgical technique and be able to monitor patients under anesthesia. We do a lot of emergency surgeries, so this is an important part of the position.
3.Must be able to restrain fractious animals.
4.Must have experience taking radiographs.
5.Must have experience drawing blood samples from dogs and cats. This is something you will do many times each shift. Proficiency in veinpuncture is a must.
6.Must have excellent client skills. Our technicians frequently give clients updates on their pet, present procedure estimates, and sometimes are required to answer the phone.
