COUNSELOR GENETICS

ONCOLOGY UNIT

This is a part-time, Monday through Friday benefited position on the Oncology in-patient unit.  Hours will vary during the week but average 20 hours per week.  Full medical, dental and vision benefits are available. 

This position requires a clinical background of disease process, anatomy and physiology, genetic conditions and their pattern of inheritance.  The candidate must possess essential skills in identifying families at risk, the ability to investigate the problem present in the family, interpret information about the disorder, analyze inheritance patterns and risks of recurrence and review available options with the family. Good verbal and communication skills and knowledge of computer systems required.

Masters Degree and Board Certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics and 3-5 years of genetics counseling experience required
