We have an opportunity in our Contracts Group for a Government Specialist. This individual will manage the Federal Bid solicitation process in an effort to obtain "awards" that will enhance sales revenue and profitable growth for all domestic sales divisions within Baxter. Our customer base includes all facilities within the Federal Government. Responsibilities include searching electronic databases for solicitations from Government websites, interacting with marketing managers from all divisions, along with completing, submitting, and following up on solicitations/awards, leases, and freezer/refrigerator orders. While performing these critical tasks, incremental tasks are assigned to enhance the overall effectiveness of Government Sales and Operations in the Federal marketplace. These additional tasks include: maintaining a historical bid analysis, keeping contract files updated, communicating web page changes, updating a master pricing data base, FOIA requests, and updating tracking logs. Our chosen candidate Government will also be responsible for backing up the DAPA (Distribution and Pricing System), Alternate Channel, and BAM pricing. QUALIFICATIONS: Our chosen individual must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Government, or other related field. A minimum of 1-2 years of focusing on bid processing, pricing administration, and contracting is preferred. Candidates must be willing to learn and understand detailed concepts such as Federal Government procurement and contracting regulations.Applicants must have strong Internet capabilities and fluency in Microsoft applications. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication skills, along with superior organizational and problem-solving skills. Multi-tasking, attention to detail, and excellent follow up ability is mandatory for success in this role. In addition, promoting teamwork, and working well within a team-oriented atmosphere is critical for success in our fast-paced, global environment.  As a global leader dedicated to building the best team in health care, Baxter offers competitive compensation and full benefits.
