Health Information Management Director
Milwaukee Health Services is looking for a qualified candidate responsible for directing, planning, coordinating, and administering the Medical Records program for the corporation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work as a line manager, direct the health information management functions of all the facilities in the clinic Develop and deploy health information management systems Monitor health information management systems Set clinic’s standards for data quality and ethical practice Participate in the development of health information management policies and practices as well as enforce them Provide education and training to the clinic’s employees in areas relevant to health information management policies and procedures Support and facilitate clinical, administrative, and external data use functions Monitor local, national, and international trends in healthcare delivery Serve as internal consultant on health information management issues Perform and report research on topics related to health information management Forecast the clinic’s future technical and information needs Coordinate specialty databases Perform other duties as assigned
Education, Training, and Experience
Master’s degree in health information management or related field Certification as an RHIA with education and experience relative to size and scope of organization Three to four years experience in medical records with preferably two years in supervisor role Knowledge of information systems and healthcare applications in addition to database applications and report writing software Electronic Health Record experience is desirable
Skills
Ability to interpret Medical Records Dept. policies and procedures and apply them in specific situations Demonstrated organization, facilitation, communication and presentation skills
Physical/Mental Demands
