Health Services Assistant - JOB ID #970
This is a full time, 11-month position responsible for the clerical/administrative operations of the front desk for the departments of Counseling and Psychiatric Services.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Scheduling appointments and check out; Maintaining medical records, including requesting records, making charts and data entry; Creating and assisting with reports, letters, other communication; Maintaining inventory of supplies and printed materials; Assisting with special projects.
Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Some college is preferred. A minimum of one year of work experience in an administrative/clerical role is required, preferably in a medical office.
Candidates must demonstrate strong interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills due to heavy interaction with physicians, nurses, other professionals, and the public. Must also demonstrate a strong customer service orientation.
Candidates must demonstrate ability to control stressful situations in a calm and concise manner. Must also demonstrate strong decision making and problem solving ability.
Candidates must possess strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks. Must also possess the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Candidates must demonstrate ability to maintain a professional attitude with confidential information and situations. Must also possess the ability to quickly learn new computer applications.
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in MS Word and data entry. Familiarity with medical management system is strongly preferred.
Health Claims Coordinator - JOB ID #976
This position is responsible for coordinating mandatory student health insurance across campus.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Working with campus departments to implement and monitor student health insurance requirements; Working with approved insurance carrier/agency implementing and monitoring insurance waivers; Enrolling students in health insurance program; Monitoring insurance information in medical management systems; Working in the Health Center checking pharmacy insurance billings, billing laboratory & x-ray charges, and posting payments to student accounts; and Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Some college is preferred. A minimum of one year of work experience in health insurance claims is required. Prior University health insurance experience is desirable.
