Housekeeper III

Requirements: Prior experience with floor care is highly desirable.Will provide extensive on the job training for 1-3 months.Proficiency expected to be reached in three months.Able to calculate measurements of chemicals used in cleaning.Ability to follow oral instructions.Requires the ability to read, write, or understand the English language; and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff while performing assigned duties.Requires the physical ability to continuously walk, stand, bend, twist, kneel, up to 90% of the time, and lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Cleaning carts and equipment require the ability to push and pull objects weighing up to 200 pounds on casters or rollers. Must be able to ascend a ladder not more that six feet in height.Performs work in an environmentally controlled work area.Exposure to strong germicidal solutions, soiled linen, infectious waste and blood/body fluids. This exposure requires that the individual be familiar with policies on handling infectious waste and chemicals. Description: Under the direction of the Manager of Environmental Services and according to established organizational and departmental policies and procedures, the Housekeeper III is responsible for the cleaning activities that assure the facility is maintained in a manner that is consistent with organizational and customer expectations and standards for cleanliness, aesthetics, safety, and infection control.
