Housing Manager
North Los Angeles County Regional Center (NLACRC) is a private, non-profit corporation funded through the State of California that provides services and supports to persons with developmental disabilities and families in the San Fernando, Antelope, and Santa Clarita Valleys for over 30 years. NLACRC has an opportunity for a Housing Manager who will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing permanent and affordable housing for people with developmental disabilities within our catchment area.
We're looking for an experienced leader with particular expertise in the areas of local housing authority, Section 8 regulations, federal, state and local grants/subsidies, HUD funding as well as other government and non-government funding streams that could be accessed to develop affordable housing options. Knowledge of developmental disabilities and Regional Center (or related agencies) is preferred; previous employment in the Regional Center system or related agency preferred. Experience in real estate and/or mortgage industry; education or experience in business administration and possesses strong negotiation and conflict management skills.
In addition to a Master’s degree or Bachelors Degrees in either Business Administration, Public Administration, Urban Development or related field, this position requires a minimum of 5 years experience; Real Estate Broker or Agent License/Certification preferred. The ideal candidate will bring knowledge of developmental disabilities, will plan, coordinate, and implement housing solutions based on direction from NLACRC’s Community Placement Plan and Board of Trustee’s Housing Advisory Committee. Identify available and permanent housing for consumers; locate available resources within the community. Increase the availability of flexible living options in the catchment area via supported living and other community living options. Work collaboratively and develops partnerships with local, federal and state housing authorities, banks, developers, realtors, and interested community members in developing housing solutions for people with developmental disabilities. Work with people with developmental disabilities and/or their families in the area of estate and property donation. Provide technical assistance and coordinates education and training regarding housing options to our staff, people with developmental disabilities, families, and vendors. Participate in legislative outreach and relevant community activities that support housing needs people with developmental disabilities. Promote the efforts of state, federal, local, and private housing agencies regarding the housing needs of people with developmental disabilities. Participate in the Center’s management team, may serve as staff support for Board committee(s).
