Human Resources Assistant

Provides administrative support in multiple functional areas of human resources department; including recruitment and selection, new hire, and benefits administration. Maintains hospital-wide professional licensing database. Administers smart card, badge system, and employee vehicles program. Administers job postings and supports HR staff with advertising,  background checks, and pre-employment processes. Assists with orientation sessions for new employees and explains benefit programs.  Maintains employee files and records, assures completeness of files. Responds to public inquires on positions available in the hospital and employment verifications. Provides support to internal and external customers, special events planning and other HR programs and projects.  Serves as back up for benefit administration including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement, FMLA, STD, LTD, and COBRA. Coordinates employee of the month program.

AA or BA in Human Resources, business or related field is highly desired. Minimum 2 years applicable Human Resources office experience in a support role preferred.  Knowledge of HR policies and regulations; experience using personal computers, word processing and spreadsheet software.  Must be organized, detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment.Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers.
